Supabase is an open-source backend-as-a-service built on Postgres. It provides a hosted database with a REST and GraphQL API, built-in authentication, file storage, edge functions, and realtime subscriptions out of the box.
The free tier includes two projects with generous limits. The Pro plan at $25/month scales with usage and adds daily backups, more storage, and higher API limits. Self-hosting is also an option for teams that need full control.
